Lady Gaga is probably one of the most influential and growing stars in the world of pop today, both in number of fans and in influence in the media.
She has captured the attention of the world by walking her impressive styles through all the public ceremonies she has attended, becoming almost more known for her risky aesthetic proposals than for her musical production. A musical production that since the release of "The Fame", Lady Gaga's debut album in 2008, is estimated at some 23 million records and 64 million singles, undoubtedly the most meteoric projection of a musical artist in recent years. Within an industry that is undergoing a tumultuous business shift to digital, these numbers are even more impressive.
Lady Gaga's fondness for tattoos is well known, which have become an integral part of her personal aesthetic, it is not known for sure how many she has and she regularly surprises her fans with the addition of some new design on her skin. We will try to make a small summary of the most popular tattoos of Lady Gaga below.
Some observer fan may have verified the fact that all or the vast majority of Lady Gaga's tattoos are on the left side of her body, this is due to the fact, according to the artist herself revealed in an interview, that her own father asked her, since she had decided to get a tattoo, leave one side of the body without tattooing, hence this curious disposition. Her father seems not to be very fond of her daughter's tattoos.
On her left hip extending towards the back Lady Gaga wears a tattoo of roses and daisies, the artist has explained that the reason behind this tattoo is that she simply likes those flowers. The extension of this tattoo towards the back was done by the famous tattoo artist Kat Von D, and in addition to continuing with the flower motif, she added a "Treble Clef" practically in the center of the back.
In 2009 while in Osaka Lady Gaga got another new tattoo on her left forearm with a quote from one of her favorite philosophers: Rainer Maria Rilke. The quote reads: "In the deepest hour of the night, confess to yourself that you would die if you were forbidden to write. And look deep into your heart where its roots extend, the answer, and ask yourself, should I write?"The tattoo is made in the author's original German.
Lady Gaga is so fond of tattoos that she got a new tattoo in 2010 with the intention of sharing it on twitter with her followers and thus revealing what would be the title of her new album: "Born This Way". The tattoo done in a childish style and located on her left thigh represents the head of a unicorn with a ribbon around the horn on which can be read "Born This Way", the title of the album. In subsequent statements Lady Gaga attributed the choice of this motif for her tattoo to the fact that the unicorns has always been one of her favorite fantastic, mythological animal.
Following the tradition started with the "Born This Way" tattoo, Lady Gaga unveiled a new tattoo in August 2012 with the word "ARTPOP", the title of her next studio album that is expected to be released in 2013.
Just a month after showing the world the "ARTPOP" tattoo, Lady Gaga showed her last tattoo which as of the moment these lines are written is the last one that has been done, a small tattoo of an anchor on the left side.
